History of Yoga

Yoga has an interesting origin compared to some other forms of exercise. It is considered the oldest form of exercise. The roots of yoga can be traced back about 5,000 years. The earliest signs of yoga practice have been found in the Indus Valley. They called this early form of Yoga “The Vedas”. The traditional purpose of yoga is to bring about a profound transformation.

The different yoga postures have been believed to bring stability and relaxation to the lives of its practitioners. The positions help relax the practitioner, preparing them for meditation. Today, yoga is one of the most popular forms of exercise. Over 30 million people practice yoga as a form of exercise!
